Full Service Catering

We highly suggest hiring full-service catering! First and foremost, a full-service catering staff will have extensive experience in executing your wedding day to perfection; you likely won’t even realize they’re there as they do so much behind the scenes that you really don’t think about while planning.

They are in charge of setting up tables and chairs, tearing down and cleaning the space post-party, and so much more! They will have all of the equipment needed to serve your guests you won't have to worry about ordering or renting any additional items, which can save you time, money, and more importantly, stress.

When you hire fill service catering all of your wedding party, family and guest can relax knowing those little things are taken care of.

Communicate

Make sure you over-communicate and explain your expectations of the day, to a person you can trust to see your vision and execute your aesthetic. That person will be able to make last-minute decisions with your style in mind! That person will be able to make last-minute decisions with your style in mind!

Some things to consider ahead of time and plan are décor elements for your event, think about the colors that best reflect your vision. Choosing colors that work well together can create an atmosphere of unity and harmony that could bring a sense of ease to you on the day of your wedding. We also recommend making a Pinterest board and sharing it with your point of contact on the day of so they can confidently make last-minute decor decisions on your behalf.

This is also important to do when planning with your vendors. The more they know, the better, especially when it comes to last-minute floor plan changes or unexpected headcount increases or decreases. Remember, everyone you hired is here to celebrate you and want to bring your vision to life!

Day of Timeline

Making a timeline helps keep your team of vendors on task and accountable to one another for the things that need to be done and when! It sets expectations for all people involved. Most vendors are going to ask for this, so being concise and clear helps all involved.

When creating a day of wedding timeline, it's not only important to consider the wedding ceremony and reception but to also make sure that you include enough time for each part of the day so that all vendors can perform their tasks without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. You'll also want to factor in any extra activities such as first looks, family photos, cake cutting, or first dance. Include accommodations for breaks between events and activities, as well as travel time if you are using multiple locations. Remember to also factor in additional time for the unexpected—guests running late or a traffic jam!

The most important part of creating a timeline is communicating it to your venue, day or coordinator (or point of contact), and all of your vendors. Make sure you send your finalized timeline well in advance before the big day, so everyone has enough time to plan and make any necessary adjustments.

Stay By Your Partner’s Side

Don’t leave your partner’s side! Do everything together. This is the day you all have been planning for! It is so easy for guests to come in and catch you in separate conversations but try and have those conversations as a couple! Get food together, drink together, and don’t forget to party together! This is your day to celebrate! Be sure that you are enjoying it together and with everyone you love.

Being by your partner's side on your wedding day can not only make your celebration more enjoyable but can also alleviate much of the stress that comes with planning and executing such a big event. Studies have shown that spending time with a loved one reduces cortisol levels, the hormone responsible for stress, and instead releases oxytocin, a hormone associated with feelings of love and connection. This means that being with your partner can actually reduce the physical symptoms of stress, such as a rapid heart rate or feelings of anxiety.

So don't be afraid to hold hands, steal a kiss, or simply share a smile as you celebrate your special day together!

Take 10 Together

This one is our favorite suggestion here at CLAY. We call it Take 10! We encourage couples to take 10 minutes after the ceremony to sit in our client sweet and just soak in all that just happened and to connect before entering the party as a newly married couple!! It’s always such a special moment and we love witnessing it!

Take 10 is all about slowing down, taking a deep breath, and enjoying the little moments. Those are the ones that will last forever. So while you might be tempted to rush off and join your guests at the reception, give yourself these few minutes to slow down and just enjoy each other. We think it will be the best few minutes of your entire day!

Take a Deep Breath

Try not to sweat the small stuff! Things happen that are out of our control. Know that everyone is there for you and your partner! Even if it feels like the end of the world, there are still people who care and want to help.

At the end of the day, your wedding day is a time to celebrate love and the beginning of a new journey, so try to make the most of it - even if it doesn't turn out as planned! You may have a great story to share with your friends and family over something silly that happened but felt so big in the moment. Take a deep breath and know it'll all work out!

How to Handle Wedding Planning Stress

Wedding planning can be a source of great joy and excitement, but it can also bring on a lot of stress. With so many details to consider, things can quickly become overwhelming. Luckily, there are some simple strategies that you can use to manage the wedding planning stress and keep your big day running smoothly.

Plan Out Self-Care

One of the most important elements of wedding planning stress management is taking time for yourself. Set aside dedicated time to do something that brings you joy and helps you unwind, such as going for a walk, reading a book, or spending quality time with friends and family. This will provide an outlet for your emotions and help you stay centered. It's even better if you plan your self-care days alongside your fiancé! A couples massage is a great way to relax and spend some quality time together.

Prioritize Your Tasks

There are so many tasks to complete when it comes to wedding planning, but that doesn’t mean you need to do them all at once. Prioritizing your tasks is the best way to minimize your wedding planning stress. Make a list of the most important tasks and prioritize those first. This will help you stay focused and allow you to tackle one task at a time, making your progress more manageable. Sometimes all you need is to visualize your workload and put things on paper!

Delegate When Possible

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, don’t be afraid to ask for help! It can be difficult to let go of some of the wedding planning tasks, but delegating responsibilities to your friends and family can make a huge difference. They can help with everything from vendor selection to designing invitations.

Take Breaks

It is important to take breaks throughout the wedding planning process. This will give you the opportunity to take a step back and refocus if you’re feeling overwhelmed. Make sure to schedule regular breaks so that you can re-energize and get back to wedding planning with renewed enthusiasm.

Remember What Really Matters

At the end of the day, it's important to remember what really matters: your marriage and the love you have for one another! All of the stress and pressure can make it easy to forget why you’re planning a wedding in the first place. It’s important to stay focused on what’s most important – your relationship with your partner – and let that be your guide throughout the process. Trust us, the last thing you'll remember is the stress you felt when planning as your perfect day will outshine it all!
